Job Summary
Polysonographer Sleep Technologist, located in the POLY specialty area, is responsible for performing sleep studies to evaluate and treat sleep disorders. The role involves recording and analyzing data such as brain activity, heart rate, breathing patterns, and blood oxygen levels during sleep, providing critical information for diagnosing conditions like sleep apnea and narcolepsy.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Sleep technologists, also known as polysomnographic technologists, work with physicians to evaluate and treat sleep disorders by performing sleep studies on patients. They record clinical data such as brain activity, heart rate, breathing patterns, and blood oxygen levels while patients sleep. They then use this data to develop reports that physicians use to diagnose and treat disorders like narcolepsy and sleep apnea.
  • Required Qualifications: Current licensure and certifications as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Certified Sleep Technologist (CPSGT); BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); at least 1 year of sleep tech experience; proficient in skills related to sleep study procedures; work history reflecting pertinent experience; work location suitable for local candidates; scheduled to work night shifts with a 12-hour shift, totaling at least 36 hours per week from 10/20/2026 to 01/19/2027.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with various sleep disorder conditions, strong attention to detail, and good communication skills.
  • Responsibilities: Conduct sleep studies, monitor patients during sleep, analyze sleep data, prepare detailed reports, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout procedures.
  • Certifications: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Certified Sleep Technologist (CPSGT).
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Submission Requirements: Candidates must submit work history and skills checklist relevant to the specialty, along with supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
