Job Summary
MRI Technologist, MRI Specialty, location unspecified. This position involves operating and preparing specialized equipment to perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures. The role requires applying technical judgment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images aligned with written protocols and patient needs.

Job Details

• Performs MRI imaging procedures.
• Positions patients and associated coils to obtain optimal studies.
• Provides patient education related to specific imaging procedures, including the nature of the exam and any instructions.
• Reviews all patient safety questionnaires prior to MRI scanning.
• Ensures all MRI images are properly labeled as per department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Evaluates images for technical acceptability and transmits images to Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) promptly.
• Completes all studies in Radiology Information System (IDX) within designated timeframes.
• Maintains cleanliness of the radiology room and equipment, including removal of soiled linen, at the start and end of shifts.
• Scans patient-related documents accurately.
• Maintains supplies and accessories necessary for safe MRI procedures.
• Records all required patient tracking information in IDX.
• Schedules exams in IDX as needed.
• Reports needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisors or appropriate personnel.
• Assists physicians directly whenever required.
• Calls for inpatients as necessary.
• Performs clerical duties in support of imaging operations in the absence of support staff.
• Adheres strictly to safety guidelines to prevent ferromagnetic material introduction into the scan room and maintains infection control standards.
• Participates in in-service training and professional development meetings.
• Ensures licensure compliance as per state regulations.
• Other related duties as assigned.
