Job Summary
CT Technologist Woodstock, VA. This healthcare provider is seeking a qualified CT Technologist to perform computed tomography (CT) and general radiology (x-rays) procedures, including portable exams, for patients of all ages. The role involves delivering high-quality imaging services in a critical access facility, ensuring patient safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
Job Details
- Qualifications: Completion of an AMA accredited Radiology Technology program; ARRT certification; VA license; BLS (AHA); three years of experience as a CT technologist preferred; knowledge of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
- Schedule: Night shifts, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate CT and x-ray procedures according to protocols, using optimal techniques to produce quality images for patients of all ages, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Ensure patient positioning, prepare equipment, and monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures.
- Make modifications for positioning, slice thickness, and intravenous contrast administration as needed.
- Explain procedures, review patient history, and perform contrast injections as ordered by physicians.
- Assist physicians with invasive procedures and accurately document exam details in hospital information systems.
- Follow radiation safety measures and infection control policies to ensure safety for patients, staff, and physicians.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain current knowledge and skills.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with CT and radiologic procedures, excellent communication skills, and ability to operate imaging equipment with high accuracy.
- Additional Information: Must be able to work weekends and holidays, with flexibility for all shifts as needed.
