The role involves providing diabetes self-management education and medical nutrition therapy to individuals, families, and groups. The position supports patient care by assessment, counseling, and collaboration with healthcare teams to develop personalized management protocols aimed at controlling disease and improving quality of life.

Job Details

Position: Registered Dietitian Diabetes Educator
Location: [Facility location not specified]
Certifications: CDCES or CDE; BLS; eligible for licensure exam (candidates in the process of obtaining hours)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Dietetics
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, days, start time between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM, minimum 40 hours per week
Specialty: Dietitian, with expertise in diabetics and gestational diabetes
Skills: Proven competency in diabetes management, use of monitoring and management equipment (blood glucose monitors, insulin injection devices), adult learning theory, and ability to provide individual and group education. Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite and EPIC EMR.
Additional Responsibilities: Assist with staff education, policy reinforcement, survey readiness, and instruct patients on insulin and medication usage, blood glucose management, and technology such as CGM and insulin pumps.
Additional Information: 2 years of experience required; inpatient diabetes management and related procedures experience preferred. Must complete onboarding labs within 3-5 days of contract signing and provide accurate work history.
