MRI Technologist in MRI located in an unspecified area. This role involves independently performing imaging procedures, demonstrating technical proficiency and sound judgment to support diagnostic processes. The position requires maintaining MR safety, clinical competency, and collaborating effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
Job Details
- Position Description: Independently performs imaging procedures, practicing and maintaining magnetic resonance (MR) safety standards.
- Practices and maintains MR safety in the department.
- Maintains clinical competency for all exams and equipment.
- Performs procedures for reviewing, processing, and archiving images.
- Pre-exam review: Reads and presents relevant information to the physician based on protocol.
- Patient identification: Identifies all patients using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures.
- Patient history review: Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition, labeling, preparation, and administration of contrast.
- Documentation: Records patient history in electronic records as required.
- Communication skills: Demonstrates strong ability to interact with patients and co-workers, displaying care, listening, dignity, and respect.
- Teamwork: Works effectively as part of the department and with other departments to expedite patient care.
- Patient instructions: Communicates procedures clearly, explaining steps to help allay fears and solicit cooperation.
- Exam management: Ensures exams are properly coded, all patient information is accurate, exams are networked for archiving/interpretation, and charges are entered correctly.
- Additional duties: Performs other duties as assigned and in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program with MR registry. MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of primary registry acquisition or hire date if already obtained. CNMT, ARDMS, and ARMRIT graduates must obtain MR registry within 12 months of hire. Two years of experience required. Valid certifications include ARRT Certificate, ARMRIT, NMTC, or ARDMS, along with BLS and Pennsylvania Act 31, 33, 34, and 73.
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
