Job Summary
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technician Location: Not specified. This role involves providing technical support and assistance to physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The position requires clinical knowledge, technical skills, and professional judgment to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in a fast-paced cardiac catheterization lab environment.
Job Details
- Position Description: Under general supervision, assists in cardiac catheterizations and vascular procedures, performs scrub and hemodynamic monitoring duties, and provides pre-, intra-, and post-procedural care and instruction to patients. Prepares and maintains all pertinent information related to procedures.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate from an approved school of radiologic technology; two (2) years in diagnostic and/or interventional cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology lab; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or exam eligible at time of hire (RCIS) or CVT with four (4) years of cath lab experience; BLS, ACLS, PALS certification; demonstrates clinical competence in basic cardiac physiology/pathology, 12-Lead EKG interpretation; physiologic monitoring (intra cardiac pressure waveform knowledge), pacemaker operations (implantable and external), and other radiographic equipment related to cardiac care.
- Preferred Qualifications: Four (4) years in combination cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology lab; ARRT with Advanced Level Certification in Cardiac Interventional Radiography; Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
- Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts per week, Tuesday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Call may be required, and some weekends may be required based on staffing needs.
- Additional Information: Staff complete a service partner orientation on the first day onsite, in addition to department-specific and general orientation. This is a new service line with an anticipated start-up date of October 15, 2019, aiming for staff hires by August 15-September 1 to complete training. Floating to other units/departments may be required.
- Certifications: ARRT, BLS, RCIS.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in cardiac cath lab required.
