Description
Job Summary:
CT Technologist in a healthcare facility located in the United States. This position involves performing advanced diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) scanners, ensuring high-quality images, patient safety, and operational efficiency. The role requires proficiency in patient positioning, contrast administration, and operating imaging equipment in accordance with departmental protocols.
Job Details:
- Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program, ARRT registration in Radiology (R) including Computed Tomography (CT), and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. At least 2 years of prior experience as a practicing CT Technologist.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Performs complex specialized tasks related to the operation of CT scanners, power injectors, and related equipment following radiation safety standards.
- Positions patients for CT scans using appropriate positioning devices and protective equipment.
- Assists radiologists with routine and interventional CT procedures.
- Evaluates CT scans for technical quality, collates processed images in sequence, and labels them appropriately.
- Dispenses and/or orders oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
- Demonstrates proficiency in IV placement for contrast administration and safe contrast procedures.
- Maintains accurate patient records, including documentation of procedures and supplies, in electronic health records (EHR).
- Troubleshoots equipment issues and calls service engineers if necessary.
- Assists with clerical duties, patient transportation, and cross-trains in other modalities as needed.
- Demonstrates flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking calls or overtime shifts.
- Must complete all required annual education, training, and licensure updates.
- Performs other duties as assigned, with a focus on patient safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards.
