Job Summary
CT Technologist Location: not specified. This position involves performing computed tomography procedures, producing detailed images for interpretation and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures within the healthcare provider organization. The role requires technical expertise in advanced CT imaging techniques and contributing to patient safety and care.
Job Details
- Qualifications: Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program, High School diploma or equivalent. NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJ DEP) Diagnostic Radiography License, ARRT Certified Radiologic Technologist (R.T.(R))), American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license preferred.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities:
- Performs complex CT procedures using GE Revolution CT Scanner.
- Reviews and documents patient clinical history, prepares and scans patient records into PACS.
- Identifies and administers contrast media as prescribed, verifies exam appropriateness, and communicates with physicians for additional clinical information.
- Obtains outside studies, schedules them, and ensures they are available for radiologists.
- Evaluates radiographs for diagnostic quality, maintains patient safety protocols, including proper positioning and shielding.
- Monitors patient condition during procedures and manages adverse reactions.
- Performs venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures.
- Contributes to a team environment and adheres to organizational standards regarding behavior, attendance, and punctuality.
- Lifts minimum 25 lbs., pushes/pulls minimum 50 lbs., and stands for a minimum of 6 hours daily.
- Achieves ARRT (CT) certification within twelve months of hire and maintains CEU credits.
- Additional Information: This position requires flexible availability, including weekend shifts, and may include optional on-call duties. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, radiological positioning, and understanding of CT software/hardware.
