This position involves performing mammographic examinations to detect breast abnormalities or breast cancer, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The role includes operating digital mammographic and stereotactic equipment, conducting bone density examinations, and providing patient care throughout procedures.
Job Details
- Certifications: Active Massachusetts State license for Radiology and Mammography, certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and current BLS certification.
- Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED, graduate of a JCERT Accredited Radiography Program.
- Experience: 0 years of experience required.
- Specialty: Mammographer.
- Schedule: Rotating shift schedule, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, proficiency in patient positioning, radiation safety, and quality control, completion of training in Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (3D) and Full-Field Digital Mammography (2D).
- Additional Information: Performs quality control tests, maintains equipment and supplies, and adheres to infection control policies and procedures. Participates in ongoing professional development and ensures patient confidentiality.
