The location is currently available for a Ultrasonographer General in the healthcare field. This role involves conducting sonographic procedures on assigned patients using ultrasound diagnostic equipment under supervision, assisting in gathering medical data necessary for diagnosis, and ensuring equipment functionality. The position requires collaboration with physicians and other healthcare staff to deliver accurate imaging results.
Job Details
- Position: Ultrasonographer General performs ultrasound diagnostic procedures including general abdominal, small parts, OB-GYN, and limited vascular sonography on varied patient populations
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography, 0 years of experience, schedule of 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week
- Demonstrates proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment & accessories, documenting observations, obtaining diagnostic images, and maintaining records
- Maintains and reports on equipment status, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring timely completion of exams
- Explains procedures to patients, assists throughout ultrasound procedures, and ensures infection prevention techniques are followed
- Performs basic Doppler scans (hepatic/portal veins, hepatic artery, renal transplant artery, venous Doppler studies) within allotted timeframes and demonstrates proper technique and documentation
- Reviews patient medical history, accesses ancillary systems (Kinetdx, PACS), and reloads prior exams for comparison
- Performs proper probe handling, cleaning, and conforms to safety principles and procedures related to ultrasound equipment and procedures
- Ensures all ultrasound procedures are completed accurately and efficiently within specified timeframes
