Job Summary

CT Technologist performs prescribed computed tomography procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures, and protocols. The role provides safe, effective patient care; produces high-quality diagnostic images; maintains accurate documentation; and supports efficient department operations. The position requires patient education, equipment quality control, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Certificate or diploma from an approved and accredited radiologic technology program; national certification as a registered radiologic technologist or nuclear medicine technologist; state licensure in radiography or nuclear medicine and computed tomography required before hire in Arizona, Wyoming, and Nevada, and not required in Colorado; advanced computed tomography certification required within 18 months of hire; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; clinical knowledge typically achieved with two years of experience; effective communication, human relations, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Schedule: Day shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include performing computed tomography procedures, verifying provider orders, educating patients and families, producing and presenting diagnostic images, maintaining accurate records, performing equipment quality control, troubleshooting equipment concerns, maintaining supplies, and following applicable safety, confidentiality, regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards. The schedule includes alternating weekend shifts, with coverage on Sundays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; on-call and holiday requirements may apply. The role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, stretching, patient transfers, and use of proper body mechanics. Exposure to blood and bodily fluids may occur, requiring standard precautions.
