Description

Schedule: 7p-7a, 3 x 12’s per week, every other weekend and holiday. No call time required.

Position summary:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs respiratory in all settings within the Health Center. This includes aerosol therapy, airway clearance, and blood gas analysis, Endotracheal intubation, and ventilator management.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma and an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science with a major in respiratory care.
Required length and type of experience: Clinical experience during respiratory care training.
Required licensure: Certification or registry: Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Must hold a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License issued by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Performs patient assessments and evaluates the effectiveness of care.
Provides basic respiratory care, i.e. oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, airway clearance, incentive spirometry, BiPAP, and blood gas analysis.
Performs critical/complex respiratory care such, i.e. Endotracheal intubation and ventilator management. Uses critical thinking skills resolve clinical issues and optimize patient care.
Assesses learning needs of patients and/or their families and provides relevant education.
