Job Description:

Under the supervision of the CT Supervisor, conducts and assists personnel in the performance of CT examinations. Provides patient care activities to include adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Responsible for the proper utilization of Radiology Information System as described in the RIS policy and procedure.

Responsibilities:

• Participates and implements age specific care and interaction.
• Prepares and positions patients for scan according to the Radiology Department procedures.
• Sets up equipment as necessary for the specific examination and performs exams.
• Utilizes optimal sequences, positions, scan planes, and technical factors.
• Schedules exams and performs record keeping duties accurately and timely.
• Monitors patient’s condition before, during, and after scan.
• Performs quality assurance and maintains scan rooms.
• Communicates in a positive and helpful manner with hospital staff, physicians, and patients.

Requirements:

• Completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school.
• Meets requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Up to one year experience in CT is desirable.
• Graduate of a formal radiology technology program.
• Certified in CT preferred.
