Job Description:

The Charge Nurse is responsible for assessing the physical and psychosocial condition of patients, developing and implementing plans of care, evaluating patient outcomes, and coordinating patient care activities with the healthcare team. This position directly supervises licensed practical nurses, certified nurse aides, and ward clerks.

Responsibilities:

• Assess the patient's physical and psychosocial condition throughout the continuum of care.
• Develop a plan of care involving the patient/family and healthcare team.
• Implement the plan of care and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Act as a liaison in coordinating patient care activities.
• Communicate significant changes to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in performance improvement and risk management activities.
• Provide education to patients, families, and staff as needed.
• Manage the care of patients with conditions in the Emergency Room.

Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse License in good standing with the State of Colorado.
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience as an RN is highly preferred.
• Ability to manage a chaotic work environment related to changing patient needs.
• Proficiency in typing, computer software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet.
