Job Description:

The RN in the PCU (Progressive Care Unit) will provide care for adults and geriatrics with common diagnoses including cardiac, nephrology, strokes, DM, and continuous EEG monitoring. RN's are required to titrate drips such as Cardizem, betablockers, and seizure medications. The unit maintains a staffing ratio of 1:4-5 patients.

Responsibilities:

• Titrate medications including Cardizem and seizure medications.
• Provide care for adults and geriatric patients with cardiac and nephrology issues.
• Maintain communication with other healthcare team members.
• Follow the facility’s fingernail policy and complete the required orientation.

Requirements:

• Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS.
• A valid driver's license is required to verify compliance with the 50-mile radius rule.
• The candidate must pass an open book exam during orientation week with a score of at least 90%.
• Must be outside 50 miles from the facility and not employed full time, part time, or PRN with any affiliated organizations.
