Job Description:

SMH Interventional Radiology Rad Tech must have Neurosurgery/neuroscience experience. The role involves working 4x10 hour shifts on days, with potential weekend, holiday, on-call, and callback duties as per unit needs. There is a requirement of 1-2 on-call shifts per week and 1-2 weekends of call per month.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning, consistently producing radiologic images of diagnostic quality.
• Works cooperatively with all departmental members to resolve problems expediently.
• Displays flexibility, team spirit, respect, and accountability when dealing with customers.
• Administers oral contrast as needed per examination.
• Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations and assists Radiologist during procedures.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to manager or lead.
• Demonstrates competency in the use of Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS.
• Participates in hospital performance improvement activities.

Requirements:

• BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Two (2) years experience
• Licensing in the state of NY
• Technician License (NY ONLY)
• Neurosurgery/Neuroscience Experience
• AART certification
• VIR (Nice to have)
