Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care for patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), working with adult and geriatric populations, including those with cardiac, nephrology issues, strokes, diabetes mellitus, and continuous EEG monitoring. The RN will be responsible for titrating drips such as Cardizem, betablockers, and seizure medications, and working collaboratively with the charge nurse and patient care techs.

Responsibilities:

• Titrate drips including Cardizem, betablockers, and seizure medications.
• Maintain patient care for up to 35 beds with a ratio of 1:4-5.
• Coordinate with charge nurse and assist with determining patient assignments.
• Provide care in accordance with the EPIC charting system.
• Follow hospital's fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails.
• Participate in an open book exam on skills learned during orientation.
• Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed.

Requirements:

• Active RN license.
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS.
• Must pass a skills-based open book exam with at least 90%.
• Driver's license required at submittal to confirm candidate is outside a 50-mile radius.
• Must be able to work every other weekend and every third holiday.
