Job Description:
The Registered Nurse will provide patient care in a Med Surg unit, specializing in hematology oncology. Responsibilities will include patient assessment, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to establish and meet the objectives of health strategies. The role requires proficiency in EPIC, strong time management skills, and a good attitude with teamwork mentality.
Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed.
- Monitor patient conditions and assess their needs ensuring safety and optimum care.
- Perform emergency medical procedures as necessary.
- Coordinate with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
Requirements:
- Must have minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with recent experience at a level 1 or large hospital (500+ beds).
- EPIC proficiency is required without training on site.
- BLS Certification required; charge RN's preferred with ACLS.
- Experience at a larger facility with high acuity patients is needed.
- Flu vaccine is required by November 15; only medical exemption permitted.
