Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor & Delivery is responsible for providing care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of Obstetrical care. The RN utilizes the Nursing Process, demonstrates critical thinking skills, and maintains clinical competencies through continuing education. The role requires accountability for safe delivery of care and supervision of assigned personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Labor and circulate for vaginal delivery
• Attend deliveries to support newborn resuscitation
• Recover vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Provide care to antepartum patients requiring care in Labor & Delivery
• Monitor and assist laboring patients
• Communicate with providers
• Circulate in the OR for cesarean sections
• Triage pregnancies of 20 weeks and up

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience required
• 2+ previously completed travel assignments in L&D required
• BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications required
• CPN and Cerner experience preferred
• Must be able to pass an EKG
