Job Description:

The position involves providing nursing care for patients in a Progressive Care Unit with a mixed unit type, including Med/Surg to IMC level, and caring for varying acuity levels.

Responsibilities:

Administer oral, IV, IM, and SQ medications, titratable vasoactive drips, TPN/tube feeding, and blood product transfusions
Manage peripheral IV, midline, PICC and central line access, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, drains, urinary and fecal collection devices
Provide preventative and restorative skin and wound care
Read and interpret telemetry monitoring

Requirements:

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Minimum of 1 year PCU nursing experience
EPIC experience required
Comfortable with MedSurg assignments and the titration of medications such as Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Levophed
