Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides care to a mixed acuity patient population, including Intermediate Care, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical patients. Responsibilities include monitoring cardiac rhythms, managing post-cardiac procedures, and supporting a patient assignment ratio typically from 1:3 to 1:4, depending on acuity.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Intermediate Care level nursing care to a diverse patient population.
• Administer medications, including titratable drips, and manage cardiac and post-cardiac surgical patients.

Requirements:

• Minimum experience of 1.5 years in general nursing and 1 year specific to PCU.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Completion of an approved nursing education program; current RN license with the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Experience in cardiac procedural recovery and management of cardiac medications.
