Job Description:

The Cardiac Stepdown RN is responsible for monitoring vital signs, administering medications, managing cardiac devices, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal recovery and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Continuously monitor patients' cardiovascular status, including heart rate, blood pressure, rhythm, and oxygen saturation.
• Administer prescribed medications, including antiarrhythmics and anticoagulants.
• Provide post-surgical care to patients recovering from cardiac surgeries and interventions.
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
• Respond to emergent situations such as arrhythmias and cardiac arrest.
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to infection control protocols.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with an active Ohio State Board of Nursing license.
• Minimum of 3 years RN experience in Med Surg; 1 year of travel experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring equipment and emergency management.
