Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing patient care. The RN will manage their own holds and perform triage in a single triage room. The department does not have separate psych/seclusion rooms, and ER nurses will handle holds intermixed within the ER.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care for a widely varied population, including all ages.
• Manage nursing care for patients, ensuring adherence to state ratios of 1:4.
• Perform triage assessments and read telemetry strips as there are no monitor techs.
• Collaborate with RT for EKGs and management of respiratory equipment such as vents, CPAPs, and BiPAPs.
• Assist with X-ray and CT transport which is immediately adjacent to ER, as there is no transport team.
• Perform phlebotomy as needed when starting IVs.

Requirements:

• Valid RN License
• Minimum of 2 years of ER experience within the last 3 years
• Required Certifications: TNCC, ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically Cerner
• COVID Vaccine Required
