Job Description:

This position is responsible for caring for antepartum patients, laboring patients through childbirth, recovery, and postpartum, lactation education and assistance, providing family centered care including the well newborn and the Level 2 Nursery. Assure expert, compassion, individualized nursing care for patients and families. Collaborate with providers, staff, and other team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety, and satisfaction.
• Demonstrate ability to triage incoming patient requests for services.
• Deliver patient education to facilitate plan of care, informed healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness.
• Demonstrate ability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statute.
• Demonstrate competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills, and critical thinking skills.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist in procedures as needed, consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines.
• Coordinate patient care with other physician practices, Vail Health and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Deliver excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families.
• Role model the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
• Must be HIPAA compliant.

Requirements:

• One-year clinical experience required.
• Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after 07/01/2018.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
