Pros
Patient's arent that sick, they get taken to the trauma bay to be handled by staff. Staff is friendly, will help with most request. Management doesnt breathe down your neck
Cons
Hallways are narrow as hell, its pros is its con depending in what you prefer its basically a med surg assignment, if you're accustomed to being a ED Nurse apart of the codes and anything critical you wont see any of that here. Incredibly boring and tedious as hallway patients tend to mostly be confused elderly lots of family and visitors, perhaps the most non medical request I've seen in any ER. Alot of this is you dealing with the patient's visitor vs the patients. Assignment is alternating for everyone. They'll skew it to your preference but you will have to work days, nights, evenings at least for two weeks in a 2 month window. Seems trivial until its time to actually switch In terms of transporting patients that need the nurse, sometimes you'll get one of the trauma nurses to help most times you wont. Hallway assignments will easily fall behind because of this.
