We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a dynamic acute care setting. Our facility provides critical care to a diverse patient population, including those with trauma, cardiac conditions, and substance abuse issues.

Department Information

• Number of Beds: 33
• Average Daily Census: 16
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults
• Common Diagnoses: Trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, adult sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress

Key Responsibilities

• Titrate drips for medications including cardiac drugs, insulin, and sedatives.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips; document findings accordingly.
• Provide patient care with the assistance of nurse aides and healthcare support technicians as needed.
• Participate in the troubleshooting of respiratory equipment, including nasal cannula and ventilators.

Qualifications

• Must possess valid certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Nursing License: Current and valid license required.
• Professional Experience: Prior experience in an ICU setting is preferred.

Shift and Scheduling

• Shifts: 12-hour shifts (0630-1830, 1830-0630)
• Self-scheduling for core staff, travelers included.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend required.
• Holiday Requirements: Minimum of two holidays within the contract timeframe.
• Orientation: One shift of unit-specific orientation provided.

Additional Information

• Float to PCU or MedSurg may occur, maintaining the same patient ratios.
• Charting System: EPIC
• Position requires compliance with facility policies regarding artificial nails.
• Must be able to report back to work within 30 minutes if called in on short notice.
