Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery RN to join our dynamic team in Rapid City, SD. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients with various cardiology and vascular conditions.
General Information
- Location: Rapid City, SD
- Patient Load: Up to 22 patients per day
- Experience Requirement: Minimum of 1 year of clinic experience
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted with clinic experience
- Permanent Staff Wait Time: 1 full year to return as a traveler
- Patient Types: General Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Vascular Surgery
Patient Care Responsibilities
- Manage a patient ratio of 22 patients daily
- Provide care for patients with a focus on cardiac and vascular issues
- Conduct assessments and develop care plans tailored to individual patient needs
Qualifications
- Required Certifications:
- RN: BLS required
- ACLS preferred
- Education: Completion of a board-approved nursing education program
- Experience:
- Cardiology experience is essential
- Knowledge of vascular disease and treatments preferred
- Understanding of cardiac and vascular testing preferred
- Skills:
- Ability to work independently and stay organized
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Support and Team Structure
- Support on the Unit:
- EKG Technician
- 3 Clinical Assistants (1 CA per 10 rooms)
- Lead RN and Nursing Manager (RN)
- Charting System: Epic (required)
- Floating: Within the Cardiology clinic for outreach coverage as needed
Orientation and Scheduling
- Orientation: Facility protocol with 3-4 days of unit-side training with a nurse
- Weekend Rotation: No weekends
- Holiday Expectations: 2 out of 4 holidays required; Day after Thanksgiving is considered a holiday
- Time Off: Preference for contract extension to allow for 13 weeks for any full week off
