General Information

• Unit Name: Women's Services
• Number of Beds: 9 Labor & Delivery, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, 3 bed OBED
• Patient Ratios: 1-2
• Unit Staffing: Unit Secretary, Scrub Tech, dedicated CRNA & Midwife in-house 24/7, OBGYN on call
• Documentation System: CPN and Meditech

Qualifications

• Certifications Required: RN, ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring
• Must Have: Commitment to providing the highest quality of care to laboring patients
• Ability to support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities based on patient preference
• Desired Skills: Spinning Babies technique, STABLE certification

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Circulating in OR
• IUPC (Intrauterine Pressure Catheter)
• FSE (Fetal Scalp Electrode)
• Administration of Magnesium Sulfate (MgSO4)
• Postpartum Hemorrhage management using JADA system
• Nitrous Oxide administration

Dress Code

Hot pink and black uniform; preferable to wear hot pink on top and black on the bottom.

• 8-bed Level 2 NICU with NNP available 24/7 for high-risk deliveries and support
