Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team and provide patient-focused care in various emergency settings.

Location

Travel opportunities available within a 60-mile radius of Garden City, KS.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to patients with varying conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as per established protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and implement appropriate patient care plans.
• Utilize triage skills to assess patient acuity and prioritize care accordingly.
• Float to different emergency departments within the assigned region as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the electronic charting system.

Qualifications

• Current and valid nursing license.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS or ENPC, NIHSS, TNCC.
• Experience in emergency nursing preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Work Environment

The nurse will work primarily in the emergency department, treating a range of conditions including abdominal pain, diabetes, trauma, stroke, and hypertension. The average patient load may vary between 6 to 49 patients per day, depending on location and circumstances.

Additional Information

• Travelers are expected to float within Zone 4, encompassing a 60-mile radius from the city center.
• Housing arrangements are the responsibility of the traveler.
• Weekly orientation is required, during which all clinicians must be present in-state.
• Travelers must not miss more than 3 shifts in a 13-week contract period.
