Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Respiratory Services team. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional patient care and will play a pivotal role in the management and treatment of patients with respiratory conditions.
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 854
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 15-20 RRTs for Adult service lines and 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds service lines
- Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs for Adult service lines and 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds service lines
- Patient Ratios: 10 - 25
- Equipment Utilized:
- GE R860 Adult vents
- Draeger Infant/Peds vents
- Newport HT70 transport vent
- V60 Non-invasive device
- Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Cerner
Qualifications
- Required:
- North Carolina Respiratory License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Preferred:
- NRP certification
Responsibilities
The Registered Respiratory Therapist will perform various procedures to assess and treat patients with respiratory illnesses. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Administering respiratory therapies and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitoring patient’s respiratory status and adjusting treatments as necessary.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Educating patients and their families on respiratory health management.
Work Schedule
Shifts will vary, including weekend shifts (at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule).

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care within a team-oriented environment.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care or acute care setting is preferred.
