Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room takes accountability for providing comprehensive care to patients, applying the Nursing Process in line with state regulations and hospital policies. This role requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe patient care within the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Utilize the Nursing Process and adhere to the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient assessments and interventions.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuous education and training.
• Delegate patient care tasks based on the skills and experience of available staff.
• Provide guidance and supervision to team members delivering patient care.

Requirements

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• 1-2 years of recent experience in the Emergency Department.
• Experience with Cerner systems is preferred.
• Valid nursing license to practice in Alabama with no legal issues.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
