Description
General Information
This position involves working in the Emergency Department with a focus on providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Unit Specifics
- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically; up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
- Unit Staffing: Technicians available for cardiac monitoring and internal processing, as well as unit clerks for day and night shifts.
- Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend; flexible scheduling to meet departmental needs.
- Floating Policy: Must be open to floating to all sections within the Emergency Department.
- Patient Experience Requirements: Familiarity with AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You), maintaining respectful behavior towards patients, and ensuring boards are updated with relevant information.
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - within 90 days of hire
Hiring Profile
- Requested Skill Set: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or a high-volume emergency department with over 100,000 visits annually. Previous experience in a high-acuity environment is preferred.
- Must Have: 2 years’ nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting. A strong teamwork mentality and the ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback are essential. Flexibility to work in various areas of the Emergency Department is required.

Dress Code
The required uniform consists of navy scrubs.
