Position Description
Location: Nashville, TN
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 12
- Patient Ratios: 1:2
- Staffing Description: RNs, unit secretary, OR techs
- Documentation System: CPN, Meditach
- Scheduling Requirements: 3 weekend shifts and 3 12-hour shifts
- Floating Policy: Travelers float first
- Patient Experience Requirements: Shared decision making
Qualifications
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor & Delivery
- Required Certifications:
- AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced) or CEFM
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP
- Advanced Skills Needed:
- Care of the laboring patient
- Care of the newborn immediately after delivery
- Circulate and recover cesarean section patients
Procedures Performed on Unit
- Vaginal deliveries
- Cesarean sections
- Dilatation and curettage (D&C)
- Cerclage
- Epidural anesthesia
- Tub labor
Dress Code
Scrubs are not provided by the facility. Required colors are: Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray.
