Unit Information

The Labor and Delivery unit is designed to provide comprehensive care for patients during labor, delivery, and recovery. The unit features:

• Number of Beds: 10 LDR, 3 Triage, 2 OR Suites
• Number of Staff: 30 RNs
• Staff Composition:
  • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 2 Labor and Delivery RNs, 1 Nursery Nurse
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 2 Labor and Delivery RNs, 1 Nursery Nurse
• Patient Ratios: 1 RN for every 2 Laboring Patients
• Type of Equipment: GE monitoring, Novii Wireless, Spectrum IV Pumps, CADD epidural PCA
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and certifications:

• Must Have:
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Preferred:
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification

Typical Procedures

Common procedures performed in this unit include:

• Inductions
• Cesarean Sections (C/S)
• Spontaneous Vaginal Deliveries (SVD)

Dress Code

The dress code requires the use of appropriate scrubs. Acceptable attire includes:

• OR Scrubs on Unit
