Description
Unit Information
The Labor & Delivery unit features a total of 14 labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) beds, along with 2 operating rooms (ORs). The team comprises approximately 60 staff members dedicated to providing quality care.
Staffing Details
- Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 2-3 Labor & Delivery RNs, and 2-3 Postpartum RNs
- Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 2-3 Labor & Delivery RNs, and 2-3 Postpartum RNs
Patient Ratios
- Labor & Delivery: 1:1 to 1:2 (maximum)
- Postpartum: 3:1 per AWHONN guidelines
Equipment and Technology
- Type of Equipment: Beacon
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech / CPN
Qualifications
Skill Set Requirements
Must Have:
- Minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital Labor & Delivery RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM - C or AWHONN certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior Meditech experience
- Postpartum experience is highly preferred
