Join a dynamic Pediatric Cardiac ICU team, specializing in caring for congenital cardiac patients. This unit features:
- Number of Beds: 10
- Staffing: 6 RNs partnering with the PICU
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 for critical care
- Equipment: Phillips monitors, Med fusion and Baxter pumps
- Electronic Medical Record: Meditech
Job Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to pediatric cardiac patients, focusing on both critical and post-operative care. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-operative care, including managing inotropic and vasopressor continuous infusions, IV fluids, and chest tube management.
- Administer moderate sedation as necessary.
- Participate actively in team rounds to develop care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Mentor and teach junior staff and nursing students when applicable.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiac Critical Care.
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, & PALS.
- Preferred skills include experience with peritoneal dialysis, CRRT, and ECMO at the bedside.
