Description
General Information
We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for our Labor and Delivery unit. The unit consists of 12 beds, and maintains a patient ratio of 1:2. The team is supported by unit secretaries and OR technicians, and the work environment is equipped with essential technology and documentation systems.
Unit Specifics
- Number of Beds: 12
- Patient Ratios: 1:2
- Staffing Description: RNs, unit secretary, OR techs
- Documentation Systems: CPN, Meditach
- Scheduling Requirements: 3 weekend shifts, 1 call shift for RNs, 2 call shifts for techs, 3 12-hour shifts
- Floating Policy: Travelers float first
- Patient Experience Requirements: Shared decision-making
Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
- 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Advanced skills in the care of laboring patients, care of newborns immediately after delivery, and the ability to circulate and recover cesarean section patients
Procedures Performed on Unit
- Vaginal deliveries
- Cesarean sections
- Dilation and curettage (D&C)
- Cerclage
- Epidural anesthesia
- Tub labor
Certifications Required
- AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced) or CEFM
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP
Dress Code
The required uniform includes scrubs in Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray. Please note that scrubs are not provided by the hospital.
