Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our high-risk obstetrical unit. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns.
Unit Highlights
- Unit Type: High-risk obstetrical unit, labor and delivery
- Number of Beds: 24
- Patient Ratios: Estimated 1:1 for active labor and stable patients, 2:1 for cervical ripening and early labor, and 3:1 for OBED triage
Shift Details
- Shift Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Weekend Requirements: Rotating weekends required
- Call Requirements: Discuss during the interview
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 40 per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-risk obstetrical bedside care, including circulating in C-sections and recovering high acuity patients.
- Perform vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&Cs, and post-delivery recovery care.
- Monitor maternal and fetal health using GE fetal monitors and maintain accurate documentation in Meditech and CPN.
Qualifications
- Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in high-risk labor and delivery care.
- Special Skills/Experience: High-risk obstetrical bedside training and experience in labor and delivery.
- Preferred Skills: Intermediate AWONN fetal monitoring certificate.
Dress Code
- Scrub Color: Specific colors may be required (details to be discussed during the interview).
- Nail Policy: Clean and healthy; no artificial nails or gel nails permitted.
- Hair: Must be neat and clean; extreme styles or colors are not permitted. Hair should be pulled back if shoulder length or longer.
- Tattoos: Body art should be covered whenever possible.
- Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are not allowed.
Additional Information
- Floating Policy: Ability to float to the antepartum unit as needed within the women's service line.
- Attendance Policies: Adhere to the company-wide attendance policy.
