Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Unit Information

Location: Overland Park, KS

Unit Size: 13 beds plus 3 triage beds

Staffing: 69 total staff members

Shift Details

  • Day Shift: 9 RNs, 2 OB Technicians, and 1 Unit Clerk
  • Night Shift: Staffing as per unit requirements

Patient Care

Patient Ratios: AWHONN guidelines of 1:1 for labor and recovery, 2 patients for Cytotec or Cervidal.

Equipment and Technology

  • Fetal Monitoring Equipment
  • Operating Room Equipment
  • Electronic Medical Record System: CPN/GE

Qualifications

Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery.

Must Have: Labor and Delivery experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in OR Circulation for Cesarean Sections
  • Experience in catching newborns
  • Antepartum experience

Procedures Performed

  • Vaginal Deliveries
  • Cesarean Sections

Personality Fit

The ideal candidate should embody a culture of caring and compassion.

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Floating Areas

Potential to float to Mother Baby and Women’s Surgery units as needed.

Work Schedule

Rotating weekends are required; no on-call responsibilities.
