Unit Profile

• Location: Tallahassee, FL
• Unit: Respiratory
• Number of Beds: 266
• Patient Ratios: To be determined
• Type of Equipment: Various Ventilators and Bipaps
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Minimum of three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends
• Floating Policy: Will rotate throughout all inpatient units
• Patient Experience Requirements: Use of AIDET

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide critical and emergency care, with a focus on:

• Aerosol treatments
• Bipap management
• Ventilator management

Qualifications

• Skill Set: Critical Care & Emergency Care
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an ICU or emergency care environment.
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
• Advanced Skills Needed:
• Ability to perform procedures such as intubation, arterial line insertion, and bedside bronchoscopy assist.

Team Environment

The Respiratory Therapist team consists of approximately 30 experienced and diverse colleagues who collaborate effectively across the departments. The team participates in rounding with nursing units and works closely with multiple disciplines to enhance patient care.

Technological Advancements

Utilizing the latest equipment, including Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators, Vapotherm, Phillips V60+, and Siemens EPOC bedside ABG analyzers, our team is well-equipped to provide high-quality respiratory care.
