Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical Unit (MSU) to provide care for adult geriatrics and pediatric patients. This role offers excellent staffing ratios:

• Non-COVID: typically 4:1, maximum 5:1
• COVID patients: typically 2:1, maximum 3:1

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Providing high-quality care to both adult and pediatric patients in a 20-bed medical surgical unit.
• Participating in staff meetings and adhering to policies regarding attendance.
• Potentially floating to other departments as qualified, which may include taking patient loads or performing task-oriented duties.
• Assisting in covering Flu Immunization clinics as needed.

Shift Information

This position requires a commitment to 12-hour night shifts. The typical schedule includes:

• 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next
• Must be flexible to work additional shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed

Holidays coverage is required, with limited request time off allowed during peak holiday periods.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years of med-surg nursing experience.
• At least one (1) year of pediatric nursing experience.
• Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric patients.
• Current certifications required:
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Orientation

Orientation for new employees takes place on Mondays only. Please note that if compliance deadlines are missed, onboarding will be rescheduled to the next orientation date.
