Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Labor & Delivery team. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a supportive and professional environment focused on providing exceptional care to patients and their families.

Unit Information

• Total L&D Beds: 12
• Number of LDRP Rooms: 12
• OR Suites for C-Sections: 1
• Triage Beds: 1
• Postpartum Beds: 12
• Average Births Per Day: 1.5 (50-60 per month)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) setting.
• Assist with couplet care and the circulation of the operating room during C-sections.
• Titrate medications as necessary, including pitocin.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, while floating between L&D, Postpartum, and Mother/Baby units as required.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• ACLS, NRP, and BLS certifications are required.
• Experience in Labor & Delivery and couplet care is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret fetal monitoring strips.
• Experience with intermediate fetal monitoring systems.

Additional Information

• Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.
• Holiday shifts are also required, based on policy.
• The facility allows for some flexibility in scheduling.
• Currently, there are no in-house anesthesia or respiratory therapy teams; however, support is available as needed.

Charting System

The unit utilizes the EPIC charting system for documentation and record-keeping.
