Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Surgery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic orthopedic surgery environment, providing care to patients undergoing various orthopedic procedures.
Unit Information
- Location: 2nd Floor Operating Room, City, State
- Number of Operating Rooms: 17
- Type of Staff:
- Day Shift: One scrub and one circulator per room, with support techs available for positioning and other duties. Most surgeons are assisted by a PA, CST, or NP.
- Night Shift: N/A
- Patient Ratios: N/A
- Type of Equipment: Orthopedic
- EMR System: Meditech
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the operating room setting.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the surgical environment, including the setup of necessary equipment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient education and support throughout the surgical experience.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Must have large joint and spine orthopedic experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Well-versed in total joint and spine procedures.
Work Environment
- Dress Code: Scrubs must be Ciel Blue (sky blue). The facility does not provide scrubs.
- Parking: Free parking garage available for employees and contractors.
Unit Guidelines
- Report to work at 6:45 AM for huddle meetings (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).
- Shift ends at 5:15 PM; there is no second shift relief.
- On-call requirement is approximately 4 times per month, Monday through Friday only; most calls will require staying to finish cases.
