Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 12
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Unit Staffing Description: RNs, unit secretary, OR techs
• Documentation System: CPN, Meditach
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 weekend shifts, 1 call shift for RNs, 2 call shifts for techs, 3 twelve-hour shifts
• Floating Policy: Travelers float first
• Patient Experience Requirements: Shared decision making

Certifications

• Required for RNs: NRP, ACLS, BLS, must have AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced) or CEFM
• Required for OR Techs: FA certification

Hiring Profile

Requested Skill Set: Labor and Delivery Experience

• Must have: 2 years of L&D experience
• Advanced Skills Needed: Care of the laboring patient, care of the newborn immediately after delivery, circulate, and recover c/s patients
• Procedures Performed on Unit: Vaginal deliveries, c-sections, D&C, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, tub labor

Dress Code

Scrubs are not provided by the hospital. Required colors include Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray.
