Description
General Information
We are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our clinical team. The unit consists of 56 beds and provides comprehensive care to adult patients with a variety of diagnoses.

- Acute Renal Failure (ARF)
- Hepatitis
- End-Stage Liver Disease (ESLD)
- Diabetes Mellitus (DM)
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Pneumonia
- Sepsis
- Gastrointestinal (GI) bleed
- Syncope
- Chest Pain
- Pulmonary Emboli
- Respiratory Failure
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Arrhythmias
- Seizure Disorders
- Overdoses
- Delirium Tremors
Patient Ratios
- PCU/Telemetry: 1:4 (Days and Nights)
- Med/Surg: 1:5 (Days and Nights)
- CNA: 1:8 (Days and Nights)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Required Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience required in a clinical setting, with a preference for telemetry experience. Candidates with less than 1.5 years of experience will require manager approval for offering.
Skills Required
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- IV starts and blood product administration
- CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment)
- Drain/tube management
- Catheter insertion and management
- Insulin drips (both DKA and non-DKA)
- Continuous bladder irrigation
- Chest tube maintenance
- Strong clinical judgment and professional bedside manner
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Team collaboration and adaptability
Float Requirements
RNs may be required to float to other adult inpatient units, including Med-Surg, Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, Heart and Vascular Unit, Oncology, and ICU, depending on experience.
Schedule and Orientation
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday expectations: Minimum of every other holiday during contracted timeframe
- Orientation: 2 days of in-class/online education followed by 2 shifts with a preceptor
Support on the Unit
- CNA support available (Ratio: 1:8)
- 24/7 phlebotomy services
- Resource Nurse available as staffing allows
- Centralized Tele Monitoring for alarm notifications
Charting System
Experience with Epic is preferred. Please inform us if the candidate does not have experience with Epic for approval purposes.
Other Notes
- Travelers must live over 100 miles away from any facility location
- Previous permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Participation in unit huddles is required prior to shift start
- Compliance audits for pre/post pain scoring are conducted monthly
Scrub Color
All RNs are required to wear navy blue scrubs.
