Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Congenital Cardiac ICU

Unit Information

Unit Type: Pediatric Cardiac ICU

  • Number of Beds: 10
  • Staffing: 6 Registered Nurses partnering with the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:2 for critical care
  • Type of Equipment: Phillips monitors, Medfusion and Baxter pumps
  • Electronic Medical Record: Meditech

Job Overview

This position offers the opportunity to care for patients within the congenital cardiac population and collaborate with a skilled team focused on delivering high-quality care. You will engage in supporting complex medical cases in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced technology and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Cardiac Critical Care
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS

Preferred Experience:

  • Peritoneal dialysis and CRRT skills
  • Bedside ECMO experience

Typical Procedures and Responsibilities

  • Post-operative care, including management of inotropic and vasopressor continuous infusions, intravenous fluids, and chest tube management
  • Care of post-sternotomy and open chest patients
  • Administration of moderate sedation

Work Schedule

Staff will be expected to fulfill weekend shifts as part of a rotating schedule.
