General Information

This position is for a busy Level II Trauma Center with the potential for conversion to Level I. The environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to manage high acuity cases.

• Number of Beds: 492

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred, with a strong background in required skills. First-time travelers are considered if they have at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) for all staff
  • ARRT certification required for all CT Technologists, specifically ARRT-CT

Patient Care

• Patient Types: Inpatient and outpatient, primarily adult with occasional pediatric cases (outpatients/ED)
• Patient Ratios: 1:1, averaging 4 patients per hour (approximately 40 patients per day)

Responsibilities

• Perform CT scans including biopsy drainage, trauma evaluations, angiogram procedures, and strong preference for stroke perfusion experience.
• Collaborate with a team of 3-4 CT Techs on day shifts and 2 CT Techs on second and third shifts, with additional coverage on weekends.

Technology and Equipment

• Utilize GE CT equipment.
• Responsible for providing own markers.

Electronic Medical Records

• EMR System: Cerner

Orientation and Training

• Orientation consists of one 8-hour hospital introduction and 2-3 shifts under the guidance of another tech on the unit.

Scheduling and Expectations

• Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor holiday as per policy. Scheduling for holidays is not guaranteed.
• Weekend rotation: Typically once a month, subject to change based on departmental needs.
• Shift: Combination of 12-hour, 10-hour, or 8-hour shifts may be expected.
• Requests for time off exceeding 7 days require email approval from the manager and may necessitate contract extension.
