Unit Information
Location: Denver, CO
- Number of Beds: 36
- Staffing: 27
- Staffing Structure:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, RNs based on volume, 1-2 Techs, 1 Secretary
- Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, RNs based on volume, 1-2 Techs
- Patient Ratios: RN 5:1, 8-12 patients per Tech
- Equipment: Immobilizers, braces, cold treatment
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
Job Responsibilities
The Orthopedic Registered Nurse will provide care for patients on the orthopedic and neuro unit, focusing on:
- Caring for patients undergoing orthopedic procedures, including total joints (knee, hip, shoulder) and spine surgery
- Providing empathetic support and education to patients and their families
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 year of current orthopedic RN or medical/surgical experience in a hospital setting
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in orthopedic/spine nursing
- ACLS certification
