Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Med Surg Telemetry / PCU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, primarily focusing on patients in medical-surgical and telemetry settings.

Unit Information

The unit consists of 30 beds divided into three 10-bed units, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6. Our team specializes in caring for patients with various medical and surgical conditions.

Common Diagnoses

• Surgical: Total hip and knee replacement, small bowel resection, hysterectomy, exploratory laparotomy
• Medical: MRSA, C-Diff infections, suicide attempts, drug or alcohol withdrawal, COPD, pneumonia, COVID-19
• Telemetry: Patients presenting with chest pain

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry data to assess patient conditions
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Precept nursing students when needed
• Provide compassionate care to a diverse patient population
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Med Surg nursing, with preferred telemetry experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Passing score on the dysrhythmia exam within two attempts required prior to signing the contract

Shifts & Scheduling

This position entails working 12-hour shifts, with varying schedules. Weekend and holiday rotations are required to ensure equitable distribution of holidays among team members.

• Floating to Multi Care and Pediatric units may be required
