Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery unit. The successful candidate will possess substantial expertise in managing high-risk obstetric patients and will be responsible for delivering exceptional care throughout the labor and delivery process.
Unit Highlights
- Location: Dallas, TX
- Unit Type: Labor and Delivery (High Risk)
- General Information: The unit has 24 beds with estimated patient ratios of 2:1 for labor and 3:1 for OBED triage.
- Equipment: GE fetal monitors
- Documentation System: Meditech, CPN
Shift Details
- Shift: Night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Weekend Requirements: Rotating weekends as discussed during the interview
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 40 hours per week
- Call Requirements: To be discussed during the interview
Qualifications
- Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of high-risk labor and delivery care
- Core Skills: High-risk obstetrical bedside training, circulating in cesarean sections, and recovering high acuity patients
- Preferred Skills: Intermediate AWONN fetal monitoring certificate
- Procedures Performed: Support for vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, dilation and curettage (D&C), and post-delivery recovery care
Dress Code
- Scrub Color: Professional scrubs
- Nail Policy: Clean and healthy; no artificial nails
- Hair Policy: Neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors; must be tied back if shoulder-length or longer
- Tattoo Policy: Body art should be covered whenever possible
- Piercing Policy: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
Additional Information
- Unit Guidelines: Ability to float to the antepartum unit within Women's services as needed
- Attendance Policies: Company-wide attendance policies will be followed
